Safety Validation

What We Offer

We provide safety validation and certification services for industrial machine cells and control systems. Our team validates that safety systems meet the required standards and issues formal certification for MPS and SCS conformance. Our safety validation services include:

MPS Validation & Certification

Third-party validation of Monitored Power Systems for machine cells, following the requirements originally developed for automotive manufacturing and now recognized by OSHA as an alternative to traditional lockout/tagout. We verify that the MPS gate box, safety circuits, and control reliability meet the standards defined in ANSI B11.19 and B11.20, and issue formal MPS certification for the cell.

Validation of safety-related control systems (SCS) to confirm they meet the required Category and Performance Level under ISO 13849. We review the safety requirements specification, verify safety function behavior under fault conditions, and issue documented certification that the system is ready for production.

Design and implementation of safety upgrades on existing equipment — safety PLCs, safety relays, light curtains, interlocked guarding, and e-stop circuits. We build to the safety rating your application requires, from ISO 13849 Categories 1–4 (PL a–e) through IEC 62061 SIL-rated systems.

Inspection of installed safety systems to verify that as-built equipment matches the safety design, that safety functions operate correctly under fault conditions, and that the documentation package supports the required certification.

Scope Definition & Requirements Review

Every safety validation starts with the risk assessment and safety requirements already defined for the equipment — whether developed internally by the customer or by a separate party. We review the assessment, the applicable standard (MPS, SCS, ISO 13849, or customer-specific requirements), and the safety requirements specification to define exactly what needs to be validated.

Design Review & Verification

We review the safety system design, schematics, and control logic against the safety requirements specification. Verification confirms the design meets the intended Category, Performance Level, or MPS/SCS requirements before we move to on-site validation.

On-Site Validation & Testing

Our engineers perform the physical validation on-site — testing safety functions, injecting faults, and confirming that the installed system behaves as designed under all specified conditions. Every test is documented and traceable back to the safety requirements.

Certification & Documentation

When validation is complete, we issue the formal certification — MPS certificate, SCS certificate, or the applicable safety documentation — along with the full test record. Your team receives a complete package that supports internal audits, customer requirements, and regulatory review.
